As many of you may be aware, the new CDS and customs procedures have been slightly problematic and have caused a few issues over the past few months. With very little support and guidance, the customs team at 512 pushed their patience levels to the limits to thoroughly research and investigate all the new procedures and we are close to mastering the procedures that came place on the 1^st of October 2022. We want to use all of the knowledge and understanding gained to help support you all as no business should feel under pressure to master the new procedures on their own, especially when that’s what we’re here for! Our Customs Manager Chanel, and her brilliant team, who all have a very keen eye for detail that allows them to assist anyone that may approach them with any issues and queries.

512 Customs:

Allow me to introduce you to our new dedicated customs team, which is managed by customs manager Chanel, Chanel was fed up with being let down by third party brokers and spending time rectifying their mistakes, it made sense to learn from Chanel’s frustrations and create a customs team to be proud of. Chanel is the embodiment of 512’s ethos so it was an easy decision to help Chanel build this new department based on her experiences. 512 now have their own badge codes for all the main UK ports/airports giving 512 control. We are not only clearing goods for movements we arrange but also DAP imports and FCA exports. Having a bonded facility also allows us to facilitate the movement of products in and out of bond which makes us one of the only warehouses in Sheffield with this facility.

Although this is a new department customs is not new to 512. We have been doing export clearances for over 10 years, Brexit was the catalyst for taking on the import clearances and we haven’t looked back since.
